Terms of Use
Last updated 14 September 2026
The short version. These terms cover this website and the waitlist form on it — nothing more. Lotic is in private beta; joining the waitlist costs nothing, commits you to nothing, and doesn't guarantee you a place.
If you later become a customer, your use of the Lotic application is governed by a separate written agreement, not by this page.
Use the site normally and these terms will never come up. Questions: admin@lotic.sh.
1. Who we are, and what this covers
Lotic is freight quotation software operated by Beyond Borders Express ("we", "us", "our"). These terms apply to your use of lotic.sh — the marketing pages and the waitlist form on them. By using the site you accept them.
They do not govern use of the Lotic application. A customer's access to the product is governed by a separate written agreement between us and that customer, which prevails over this page to the extent of any inconsistency.
2. What this site is
This site describes software that is in private beta. Everything on it — feature descriptions, screenshots, the product mock on the home page — is a description of what we are building, not a contractual promise about what any particular release will contain.
Nothing on this site is an offer capable of acceptance, a quotation, or freight advice. Prices, where any appear, are indicative only.
3. The waitlist
- It's free, and it isn't a contract. Joining the waitlist creates no obligation on either side. You owe us nothing and we owe you nothing beyond handling your details as our Privacy Policy says we will.
- A place isn't guaranteed. Beta places are released in small batches. We may decide who to invite, and when, on whatever basis we think is sensible — including not inviting you at all.
- You can leave any time. Email admin@lotic.sh and we'll delete your entry.
- We may close it. We can pause, change or withdraw the waitlist, and the beta programme itself, at any time.
4. What you tell us
The waitlist form asks for your name, work email, phone number and company. By submitting it you confirm that the details are accurate and that you're entitled to give them to us — in particular, that a work email and phone number you enter are yours to provide or that you have your employer's authority to provide them.
Don't submit anyone else's personal information through the form, and don't put confidential material into it. It's a contact form, not a secure channel.
5. Acceptable use
Use the site for its purpose: reading about Lotic and, if you want, joining the waitlist. Don't:
- submit false, automated or bulk entries through the waitlist form;
- scrape, crawl or harvest the site other than as a conventional search engine indexing it in line with our robots.txt;
- attempt to probe, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site, its backend, or any system connected to it;
- copy substantial parts of the site's text or design for a competing product or site; or
- use the site in a way that breaks any law that applies to you.
We may block access from any source doing these things, without notice.
6. Our content and brand
The text, layout, illustrations, icons and code on this site are ours or used with permission, and remain so. "Lotic" and the Lotic mark and lockup are our trade marks, registered or not.
You may read the site, link to it, and quote short extracts with attribution. Everything else — copying pages, republishing the copy, or using our name or marks in a way that suggests we endorse or are connected with something we aren't — needs our written permission first.
7. Links to other sites
Where we link somewhere else, we don't control that site and aren't responsible for it. A link is not an endorsement.
8. Availability, and no warranty
We try to keep the site up, but we don't promise it will be available, uninterrupted, or free of errors, and we may change or take down any part of it at any time without notice.
Subject to section 9, the site is provided "as is" and we exclude all warranties, conditions and representations not expressly set out in these terms, to the extent the law lets us.
9. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), including the Australian Consumer Law, or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Where a non-excludable guarantee applies and we are permitted to limit our liability for breaching it, our liability is limited — at our option — to supplying the relevant services again, or paying the cost of having them supplied again.
10. Liability
Subject to section 9, and to the extent permitted by law:
- we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill, data or anticipated savings, arising out of your use of this site; and
- our total liability arising out of or in connection with this site and these terms is limited to AUD $100.
This cap reflects what this site is: a free, informational site with a free waitlist form. It does not apply to the separate agreement that governs the product.
11. Privacy
How we handle personal information collected through this site is set out in our Privacy Policy, and the single cookie the site sets is described in the Cookie Notice. Both form part of these terms.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. The "last updated" date at the top tells you when we last did. Changes apply from the moment they're posted, so the version on this page when you use the site is the version that applies. If a change is significant and you're on the waitlist, we'll tell you by email.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia and of the State or Territory in which Beyond Borders Express is based. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that place.
